Mission Statement :
Welcome Ministry members “connect people with Jesus” by making them feel welcomed and accepted into our community of faith.
We do so by:
Purpose:
Welcome guests as they enter for worship on Sunday morning with genuine care and concern.
Help guests feel comfortable in the physical facility and at the worship service by providing information about St. John's and applicable ministries, directions, map and introductions, as needed.
Gather information from guests for follow-up and present them with a welcome gift.
Provide post-service care and attention, with an invitation to return, attend Welcome 101, 102 or special event.
Give the people of St. John's the opportunity to use their spiritual gifts and talents to serve the body of Christ and to "connect people with Jesus".
Qualifications and Spiritual Gifts:
1) The gift of hospitality - helping someone feel "at home"
2) The willingness to serve faithfully and responsibly
3) A cheerful spirit and demeanor
Requirements:
Attend a training session (preferable) and/or study training notes.
Follow Welcome Center procedures.
Make a commitment to staff the Welcome Center for 2-1/2 hours every 6 - 8 weeks.
Be reliable; arrange for a replacement (from contact list) if you cannot serve at the scheduled time.
Attend the monthly Welcome Ministry meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30PM (optional, but encouraged).
Mission:
To provide a welcoming environment at St. John's Lutheran Church on Sunday mornings that will help connect people with Jesus.
Purpose:
Welcome all (members and guests) who come to worship
Introduce yourself to people you don't know
Direct guests to the Welcome Center for more information
Direct requests for help or information to the appropriate source
Qualifications and Spiritual Gifts:

The willingness to serve faithfully and responsibly for 30 - 40 minutes each month
A cheerful spirit and demeanor
Requirements:
Be at your station at least 20 minutes before the service and stay until approximately 10 minutes after the start of the service.
Station for Greeters is at the Franklin Street entrance.
Coordinate Sunday AM activities with the Welcome Center hosts.
Be reliable; if you cannot serve, as scheduled, arrange for another Greeter to take your place.
